its not about defense.
its about offense.
its about making them inbound the ball. thats how you defend the pacers, by scoring.
Haliburton said it himself @ 5:36

And Deuce really helped slow Haliburton down. Hurt their flow. Deuce and Brunson make a nice duo and really opened things up. The picks by Deuce were genius on Thibs part.
Hope the refs let us play in Indiana.

The Deuce picks worked so well because Haliburton basically walked around with a megaphone and a neon sign making it known that he has no interest in guarding Brunson ever under any circumstances.

I'm not sure what the landscape is around the league is in terms of who needs a starting C but I expect there to be some interest. It's a tough situation but hopefully he takes 74m over 4. Not having to uproot his family, a winning situation, and a great market hopefully can be more appealing than taking 20m per from some bum ass team but I don't wanna get hopes up.
The only teams with projected space are:
Philly
Detroit
Toronto
Orlando
Utah
San Antonio
I can't see all of those teams being interested, and I can't see iHart leaving NY for lotto teams over $3M/yr
Orlando and Utah would be the biggest threats.
Issac is apparently back though Cap...and IHart aint picking Utah over NY

Jalen Brunson having an Allen Iverson 2001 type run.
Also, shout out to Alec Burks. He secured himself at worst a minimum salary contract for next season. Being the key contributor in a Semifinals game ensures you are still an NBA-level player. For a moment there, I thought he no longer had a job in the league.

He is the weak link.
Attack him and he will fold. I would have him on an island Friday night and dare the Pacers to help.
He doesn't speak very well. I'm not sure if he's just uncomfortable speaking, or if he's not as bright as I expected. Whenever I hear the Knicks players talk, I'm impressed. For example, when Divo said how they want to be like us but it's not them. That's really it - and Hali didn't seem to understand that their "self enforced errors" were because of our pressure. Jeez.

To be fair, there's no 'meant to happen' either, there is just what happens.

My wife and I argued over this... I was like WHAT ARE YALL WATCHING. I had to go slo mo to prove it wasn't Burks. How in da hell did the refs get it wrong???
What I found super annoying was that they kept repeating it and Burks got a technical as well which resulted in a free throw. Like combined with the BS call on Achiuwa when he tipped the ball in which was called as a loose ball foul and Obi was awared two free throws which resulted in a 4 point swing. Together the refs on those two plays alone gifted Indy 5 points.

Re: Game 5 PG Thread: Gut Check
So we are all rooting for the TWolves because if they push their series to 7 and the Knicks can finish off the Pacers in 6 that means the Knicks get 5 days off. How big that would be before the ECF is bigger than big, it's huger than huge, it would be colossal....no, it would be gigacolossal.

Knicks lose game 4 and all the talking heads said we were done. Knicks kill it in game 5 and now we are world-beaters again.
