A defensive center who shoots 3s? Brook Lopez?

I know it's been the thing to do for us through most years of dealing with some tough teams we've had watch but after the long standing suffering we have all collectively endured is it too much to ask for us to be ALL IN on this team right now rather than speculation on possible off-season moves?

I get it that with the rotation Thibs is stuck running with after all these injuries that everything in my brain tells me eventually they have got to inevitably run out of gas at some point to derail this train. But at the same time tell me this doesn't also feel like a gritty team of destiny? Hopefully we see the boys roll into Indy punch these guys in the $#^&!% jaw these next two games to leave them down for the count then get ready for total war with Boston.

That is all

Great story. What is it that you’re saying though?

Not at all, you have to make a team with enough options that allow Brunson to take a night off or play less than 40mpg or god forbid, injuries

Let’s NOT improve, please. And NOT think beyond the playoffs now, please. Is it too much to ask?

As much as I hate to mention Agent Zero Brains, his podcast I think nailed the central question that our FO must deal with this summer — Can Randle adjust his game and his mindset to fit in with Brunson’s Knicks?

If so, the FO just needs to add role players. If not, it becomes imperative to replace him with a scoring All-NBA/All Star caliber vet who fits in with Jalen and Thibs.

I can see arguments both ways and honestly don’t know what to think. If Randle can respect Jalen like he’s modern Kobe, then we should be good. If not and he reverts to bad decisions and selfish sulking, then he’s gotta go.

This current team has not all played together at anytime. Run it back while guys are 100% and go from there.

That goes without saying. I meant more along don't gut the team for a star player.

dont worry about what stepehen a or sports media asks for.

leon does his thing and i trust him to not do stupid things. he has earned to get the benefit of doubt.

he didnt throw everything at mitchell when literally everybody wanted him to do that. why would he do it now?

because he wouldn't cost everything, trading for an expiring is always going to be cheaper

Can't believe I agree with Gil here but I agree with him that this is a huge question.
I don't hate Randle and value what he contributes to the team, but his style of play requires a complete shift from what we have been doing.
There is going to be some pressure on Leon to improve the roster and continue to push the team towards championship aspirations.

In fairness to Randle, bringing in any 20+ ppg scorer who’s not a corner 3 specialist would completely change what Thibs has done with high-usage iso-Brunson. Unless it’s Mikal, it will be a massive adjustment for Brunson and Thibs no matter what.

Thibs seems adept at staggering the leader of his one-trick pony offense so that Jalen and Randle take turns. And in fairness to Randle, he seemed to thrive in the secondary role before the injury.

I think to maximize their chances of competing at a championship level, I think you can find someone to take on the 20+ scoring role who can play both roles.
Not saying we should or will trade for any of these guys but theres a good argument that KD, KAT and even Mitchell can play that role better and still be an elite primary scoring option.
