Wow. Three weak hits erasing this lead in the 9th. Bases loaded one out and Holmes is giving up runs like a laxative!! Fuq!! Tie game!! Holmes blew the save!

The triple donuts are gone and it was a great run, but you can't blow the save too, Holmes.

:censored: off tonight, Holmes.

I don't think he even had anyone warming up until it was tied.

Volpe/Soto/Judge bottom of the 9th down 5-4. The Yankees will carry me through this summer starting with a walk off win tonight! I need them to fill the Knicks void!

Can't believe Holmes of all people lost this one.

Even throughout the streak, team needed to be more consistent with RISP. 4-12 tonight, but 3 of those coming from Verdugo.

No. That was a choke job spurred on by some weak hits. Two balls didn't even leave the infield!!

That’s on Holmes how’s he gonna be the closer if he can’t face adversity and get the save, probably would’ve pulled him at 4-4. Hope they cry their eyes out and aren’t able to sleep.

Holmes can sit and stew over his walks for the next 2 days learn from it. No one will ever have a 0.00 era, but it was the walks that did it.

8 straight quality starts from the rotation. That's certainly a hell of a big positive. Holmes needs to beat himself over this one and then immediately move on. 4 hits, 2 walks, 4 ER, BS, L and could've been worse had Ferguson not been able to clean up his mess.

Would've liked to have put a bigger gap in between the Yankees and Baltimore tonight, but at least the Yankees didn't lose ground either.

I hate when teams have their anomalies against the Yankees. Had it been against any other team Seattle folds easily in the 9th, but of course against us they miraculously can’t miss a beat when their backs are against the wall. This gag job was on par with the ones we had against Houston and Cincinnati in recent years and the extra innings disaster in Cleveland this season. These types of losses get me sick to my stomach.

Yankees are currently 2nd in the AL for average runners LOB, 2nd only to Houston.

And when you consider that they have also hit into the most DP’s in all of MLB, a number of those LOB were erased because of the 2 for one deal.

We gotta start getting guys home I agree. I think we blew more than one opportunity yesterday well before Holmes wet his pants

You are correct! Also, I wish the Yankees had a reliable closer. Despite his good start, I never have trusted cardiac Holmes.

Holmes has earned some grace from me. Yesterday sucked, but let's see what happens next.
