“ Reid is the first player to win the Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award with the Timberwolves. He is also the third player to earn the honor after not being selected in the NBA Draft, joining John Starks (1996-97) and Darrell Armstrong (1998-99).”

This means Naz is the first undrafted player in 25 years to win the 6th man of the year award. No wonder that beach towel made it to Wrestlemania.

“In the 47 minutes that Jaden and NAW have played together in the post season the Wolves have won 130 to 85. In the 49 minutes where one played and the other did not. They have lost 105 to 95.” Quoting Dane Moore on his pod with Britt.

We need to find a way to keep our young core together for years, they have major chemistry, that means one of Kat or Rudy will have to go..

Depends on the cap increases, willingness of NAW and Naz to take home team haircuts, will Rudy take a lot less money to stay (player option for discount contract, ect… If we win a chip and these guys know they can win more, how much do they value their legacy over their earnings? Can they get national commercials to supplement their income?

I don’t put too much stock in this. Garnett was scoring 20-10-5 back when that was a very difficult thing to do. Garnett became a scorer, but that wasn’t his best way to impact a game.

But did you hear KG when this became a big thing? He told Ant, “Break all the records!” :D

That's fair. A different mindset and scoring approach for sure.

USA Today 2020 Draft Grades:

1. Charlotte Hornets (A+). Owner Michael Jordan couldn't botch this one. With the Timberwolves and Warriors picking conservatively with Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman at Nos. 1 and 2, that left the Hornets with Ball, a 6-7 point guard who can immediately bring star power. The Hornets also capitalized on Duke big man Vernon Carey Jr. falling with the 32nd pick. They also nabbed point guard Grant Riller, another borderline first-round talent, with the 56th pick.

11. Minnesota Timberwolves (B). Picking Anthony Edwards at No. 1 was the safe bet. But they didn't take LaMelo Ball, a riskier player who could bring a huge reward. Minnesota also was positioned to trade the top pick for several other elite players. Still, Edwards is a dynamic offensive talent with score-at-will ability. Acquiring Leandro Bolmaro from Argentina was a nice pickup, but Bolmaro is planning to stay overseas for at least another season. Trading to get Jaden McDaniels at No. 28 was a solid move.

12. Golden State Warriors (B). The news of Klay Thompson injuring his leg certainly shakes things up, but securing 7-footer James Wiseman at No. 2 was a solid move for the franchise looking to rebound in 2020-21. Wiseman provided a small sample size in his few games at Memphis, but he’s got 20-and-10 capability and All-Star potential.

minnesota is 30th in NBA all time winning % at .411 ---- if minnesota has 4 x 52 win seasons, that would mean an overall .434 winning percentage. that's technically good enough for 26th overall with the current overall standings!!! that's a fun stat right?

Karl shot 52.9% from deep on 4.3 attempts per game in the first round, Ant shot 43.8% from deep on 8 attempts per game in the first round. Mike Conley shot 36.4% from deep on 5.5 attempts per game. NAW shot 32.1% from deep on 7 attempts per game. Jaden and Naz are too sad to mention.

Mackie and Judd did a pod today. Apparently Ant’s playoff stats at 22 has already surpassed Kobe’s career playoff stats in PPG, RPG, FG%, 3pt% and tied his APG. This is based on Kobe’s career numbers vs Ant’s career numbers. Kobe’s were taken between 1998 and 2013.

I don’t think career averages are a great method of comparison since the beginning and end of careers can impact the numbers in a way that don’t really do justice to the peak of a player. In this case Kobe spent the first two years as a bench player. Still though, Ant’s series against Phoenix was pretty close to as good as any series Kobe ever had.
