Updates on former Wolves

A lot of player movement in recent years and a lot of former Wolves now around the league that we want to keep tabs on.

Rather than just bumping up old individual threads, I would like to keep things clean on the forum. I think the best way to do that is to have a thread dedicated to former Wolves. Fire away with your Rubios, your LaVines, your Loves, your Dunns. It doesn't have to even be abpout a player still in the league if there's news on someone.

I will be taking suggestions on a new, creative thread title.

Let's start with a little Kris Dunn. Looks weird in that Bulls 32.

I miss those two and Rubio and most of all KG. I hope KG ends up with the Wolves in some capacity.

During today’s practice, Orlando Magic forward Adreian Payne suffered a fractured fourth metacarpal in his left hand, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced. His return to play will depend on how the injury heals and how he responds to treatment.

Oct. 4, 2017

ORLANDO – During today’s practice, Orlando Magic forward Adreian Payne suffered a fractured fourth metacarpal in his left hand, President of Basketball Operations Jeff Weltman announced. His return to play will depend on how the injury heals and how he responds to treatment.

Payne (6’10”, 237, 2/19/91) signed a two-way contract with Orlando on August 21. He did not play in the Magic’s preseason opener on October 2 at Memphis.

Payne appeared in 18 games last season with Minnesota, averaging 3.5 ppg. and 1.8 rpg. in 7.5 minpg. He also spent time with the Erie BayHawks of the NBA G League. Originally selected in the first round (15th overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft by Atlanta, Payne has played in 102 career NBA regular season games (24 starts) with Atlanta and Minnesota, averaging 4.0 ppg. and 3.0 rpg. in 13.3 minpg. He has also spent time with Fort Wayne, Austin and Erie of the NBA G League.

Per NBA rules, teams are permitted to sign two players to two-way contracts in addition to the 15-man regular-season roster. A two-way player for Orlando will provide services to the team’s G League affiliate – the Lakeland Magic – but can spend up to 45 days with Orlando, not including any time prior to the start of Lakeland’s training camp and at the conclusion of their season.

Man he just keeps bring more PAYNE to whichever team he is with.....I'm glad it's not the wolves anymore

Famous Montenegrin basketball player Nikola Pekovic bought a luxury hotel Mediterranean in Becici, owned by company Maestralturs of Budva businessman Blazo Dedic, for the amount of €8.5 million, it was said to Pobjeda daily from Commercial Court. Hotel complex was sold for the price eight times lower than the estimated value of the property.

“On June 16th, bankruptcy manager of the company Maestralturs decided to sell the hotel and all adjecent equipment to Nikola Pekovic from Podgorica”, the court stated. There were 16 advertisments for sale of this property during the bankruptcy process. The estimated value of the property was €68 million.

Bankruptcy manager Mladen Markovic did not wish to comment on the price of the property due to buyer’s privacy.

The bankruptcy in this company was announced in 2013, due to millions this company amassed in debts. Their account was frozen for five years, and the company owes a million in taxes.

Pek already making some lucrative (even if a bit shady) business decisions. Anyone want to take bets on how many years until a story comes out about him being heavily involved in the Montenegrin criminal underground?

Not sure if KG ever outright said it but there's been a few times it was mentioned in tweets or articles by local reporters.

Edit: this Canis Hoopus article sums it up really nicely.

Edit #2: this article actually goes into more detail

I didn't know anything about how KG is/was pissed at the org for not commemorating Flip the way KG wanted to

I'd rather bet some money on Pek breaking skulls to climb onto the top of the underground, if he were to go that way.
