Manchester Monarchs rookie Teddy Purcell scored three times in regulation and netted the decisive shootout goal to give the Canadian AHL All-Stars a 9-8 come-from-behind win over the PlanetUSA AHL All-Stars at the 2008 AHL All-Star Game tonight in Binghamton, N.Y.

Stupid Corporate working-environment Internet Firewalls! Its just another way that The Man can keep me from doing what's really important: blogging about the Kings!

Great write-up Corvus. Actually, Teddy Purcell has spent a little amount of time with the Kings this season. He got his first point in the Kings win over the Mighty Schmucks of Anaheim last week. I think Dean-O sent him back down to the AHL right at the all-star break so that Ted could play in the game.

Congrats on the MVP last night, Ted. Now the real question to discuss here is which is more important to Teddy's development: call him back up to get playing time & experience in the NHL? Or keep him down at Manchester in the AHL where he'll get first-line skating time and stay away from the Kings culture of losing this season?

Hmmm I say let him decide. If he's enjoying his teammates at Manchester... keep him there. If he's jonesing for the bigs let him come on up. Crosby came into a losing culture just fine. Not saying anybody is Crosby, but he's obviously got some serious skills

How is Frolov doing out there ?

he's recovering from an injury. He's been good, but there's always this feeling that Frolov will make a leap into Federov proportions and while he's solid, he's not performing at an allstar level.
