Hammond also initially resisted the Bucks' overtures but eventually decided that this was the right time to leap after working in the Pistons' front office since the 2001-02 season, operating closely with Dumars...
Does this seem odd to anybody? Maybe Kohl refused to give him total control in his initial offer, but then changed his mind?

Could be, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hammond wanted to play the hard to get card for more money.
Go Bucks!

Why not? He was definitely opinionated about the roster during the Lakers game.
"I just wanted to play because I just love the game," Jennings said. "It doesn't matter to me. I get up to play basketball. It's my job. I have to still be a professional and finish the season."

That could be. But I don't think it's that odd. When you're in a great situation doing great work it's not always easy to decide to leave. So that may have played a part in his initial reluctance to take the job. But I also think that perhaps the reality that there are only so many GM jobs in this league set in so how much longer could Hammond afford to wait? The Bucks are a mess but so is likely any other team he would be hired to run. Championship teams aren't in the market for new GMs very often.

Agree 110% with the JS bashing. Only now do they have anything up about it with some lame business about how they're "trying to confirm it" as if ESPN isn't a zillion times more credible:

They're still trying to confirm that Bogut was drafted No. 1 by the Bucks.
And yoyo, if you're around you need to edit the title again. It's Hammond, not Drummond.
