Allen/LeVert for Ingram: Which Team Needs To Add A Future Unprotected 1st

Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert for Brandon Ingram

Pelicans rebalance their roster nicely and improve defensively

Cavaliers fill in nicely at wing with one of the better realistic options

is Cleveland trading Garland for a big after this?

IMO you don’t break up Allen/Mobley since the guard change should be enough to balance.. But if I am, I definitely still need a starting big back. even if you want a PF..

I think NOP is owed value, I just wouldn’t add it from Cleveland’s side..

I don’t think an unprotected 1st is the right value add by Pels.

Allen + LeVert

FOR

Ingram + Hawkins

Seems right.

And really Pels would ask for Garland too, if Cavs say no (or Mitchell is guard leaving) Pels would ask for a 3rd team - like Murray from Hawks - to leverage salary out (and LeVert expiring).

LeVert + Daniels + Picks for Murray + Griffin.

I don't understand the idea that Ingram has very positive value at all.

He needs to

1. Be willing and able to defer
2. Stay healthy
3. Start defending
4. Start shooting threes

And he hasn't shown this in, what, 8 years in the NBA?

To start with, the next unprotected pick the Cavs can trade is 2031, which Altman isn't going to be permitted to trade.

But again, the biggest issue is whether Ingram will agree to a reasonable extension, which is something neither the Cavs nor Pelicans have any control over, and if he won't, the Cavs should just bail out altogether.

The Cavs aren't going to do that and the Pels have to move off CJ in order to trade for Garland.
