Substantially less. And quite frankly, I don't think it's even close.

Ouch poor Kawhi.

But I don’t personally agree with your assessment

Kawhi has had like 1 healthy playoff run since 2019, and that was the bubble where he was able to rest for 3 months beforehand. At this point, the expectation is that he cant make it through a season and playoffs...what kind of value can he really hold?

Aside from maybe age, what makes you think Kawhi has more value than Durant?

I didn’t say Kawhi has more value

The Clippers are just going to run it back and maybe trade P.J. Tucker and Kobe Brown?

Paul George should only go back if he can get a NTC.

Kawhi did not get a NTC in his latest deal (at a discount) and neither will George. If he demands that or the max, he is likely gone.

Three PG13 opt-in and trade ideas;

Rules;
1-The team Clippers are trading with needs to be in a place no cap space available
2- Willing to extend PG13 with a title window next couple years
3- Have some salary they have been looking to shed/send that Clippers might need.
4- PG needs to be convinced these options might have a better chance to win a ring than Sixers if he chooses.

Option 1: Knicks; J.Randle and Mitch Rob for PG13.
Knicks looking ready to contend even without them, PG13 might have a better chemistry with Brunson than Randle is with more off ball catch&shoot talent he has.
Clippers badly need PF who grab rebounds and bully his way to paint and score&get ft line. That's Randle. M.Rob would be a really good backup C Harden can use his vertical game for Lobs.

Option 2: Heat; Herro&Duncan Robinson&Jovic for PG13.
Heat put those two on the market for some time and needs better two way players. Rozier-Pg13-Butler-Jaquez-Bam is kind of good for another run with Spoelstra.
Clippers get Herro&Duncan dynamic off ball movement to open up more space&3pt threat for Zu&Kawhi&Harden operations. PG's unwillingness to off ball movement, avg 13-15 3pt Attempt per game will not be missed. Herro can also spare Norman Powell to be traded later for a PF. Jovic looks improving.

Option 3: Bucks; Middleton and Brook Lopez for PG13 and PJ Tucker.
Middleton is way more injury prone than PG13 and declined from all star level even moreso than PG13. Bucks will create Lillard-Pg13-Beasley-Giannis-Portis for better spacing and Maximize Giannis in Center.
Clippers get Stretch big to back-up Zu, get rid of PJ, dont worry about Plumlee and Take a talent hit at wing with Middleton but still starter lever player, a year younger than PG13. Middleton is less upside but better floor game might be more suitable for Kawhiless games.

All 3 options are in the eastern conference where they might need to be in a game to prevent Philly and take a better chance at Boston next year.
2023 Clippers W/L Count (51-31)
(Russ at bench 42-15)
without PG13 3-3
Without Kawhi 7-4
Without Russ 6-6

Now that I am thinking about this more, it feels like the Clips will offer PG a $176.3M / 4yr deal with a player option in the final year and without a No Trade Clause and without a Trade Kicker. Exactly the same deal Kawhi got when he declined his option.

The most he can get as a free agent is $187M / 4yr or $235M / 5yr. I can't see Philly or Orlando offering that kind of deal.

PG can pickup his player option and get traded or sign an extension (I think for $169M / 4yr) and get traded or he will decline his option and sign with the Clips for Kawhi's discounted deal or jump to Philly / Orlando for what would likely be ridiculous overpay.

Ultimately, I think the fight will be over the No Trade Clause and 15% Kicker. I hope the team holds strong and retains flexibility.

A Paul George/Julius Randle sign and trade could make sense for both teams. Clippers get young and a little cheaper - at least short term. NY gets a better win now piece.

On the Knicks front - I would love Norman Powell off our bench. He would give us the microwave scoring threat we need off the bench and has enough size to play SG with Brunson, also compliments Duce McBride well off the bench. Would a Bogdonovic for Powell swap work for LAC so they get off the last year of the Powell deal? If not, what would need to be included.

Option 1 and 3 sound horrible for the Clippers but I think Option 2 could be good for the Clippers especially if Jovic can develop into a crucial rotation player.
