PHX-LAL-UTA-CLE

Lakers send: Austin Reaves, D'lo, Gabe Vincent, unprotected 2026 Jazz pick, top 4 protected 2027 first is transformed into unprotected swap where Utah gives up worst of 2027 picks, 2028 unprotected first, 2029 unprotected swap for worst of Utah's 2029 picks
Lakers receive: Kevin Durant, worst 2025 Jazz pick,

Why for LA: Out of desperation worrying that he'll retire without another playoff series win, LeBron asks the Lakers to trade for Durant. Durant improves their defense and reduces the scoring load on LeBron and at least makes people more interested in the Lakers again.

Suns send: Kevin Durant, 2031 unprotected first, four second round picks
Suns receive: Lauri Markkanen, Jarrett Allen, Gabe Vincent

Why for Phoenix: Trade Durant for multiple great players (and Gabe Vincent...) with timelines that better match Booker. This blows up their payroll next year (once Lauri jumps to $50m a year) but their owner seems okay with that? Will still have player drafted with 2024 pick (and four seconds) to attach to Nurkic to move later for another perimeter player.

Cavs send: Jarrett Allen
Cavs receive: Austin Reaves, $7.5m TPE, 2028 Lakers first

Why for Cleveland: This assumes that Mitchell is traded. If so, the Cavs break up their two big lineup that has not worked offensively and add a scoring SG to give them some of the offense they'll need with Mitchell gone.

Utah sends: Lauri Markkanen, worst 2025 Jazz pick
Utah receives: D'lo, Lakers picks mentioned above other than 2028, 2031 Suns pick

Why for Utah: Jazz get good picks and tank.

Jarrett Allen straight up for Austin Reaves is not a trade I'd consider from a Cavs perspective.

Edited it to give more value to the Cavs.

Bad for the Cavs. Cut Cleveland out and just send Reaves to Phoenix.

Cut Cleveland out of this. No reason for them to be here.

I would have Durant worth more than Lauri at the moment, one is still a Top 10-15 player and the other is a Top 30-ish guy.

The Suns have the worst centers of any team in the postseason and the Cavs are suffocating because they have too many centers.

Nurkic was really really really bad and badly harmed the Suns' offense because he can't score.

Reaves is an awful fit with Beal and Booker.

He isn’t much better with Mitchell and Garland plus the Cavs have Strus. Cleveland needs 3’s and 4’s, not another 2.

The Cavs problem is not redundancy, but that they have no one behind their starters who don't represent an irreparable drop off.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.
