Post#1 » by U2larkin04 » Fri Apr 13, 2007 6:54 pm

Alright, for each position that we probably are looking at in the draft, what do you think are the top 5 for each? I'll get mine up in a bit...

Top 5 prospects for each position:

Safety: 1.LaRon Landry 2.Reggie Nelson 3.Micheal Griffin 4.Brandon Meriweather 5.Eric Weddle

Cornerback: 1.Leon Hall 2.Darrelle Revis 3.Aaron Ross 4.Chris Houston 5.Tenard Jackson

Linebaker: 1.Patrick Willis 2.Paul Posluszky 3.Lawrence Timmons 4.David Harris 5.Brandon Siler

Offensive Linemen: 1.Joe Thomas 2.Levi Brown 3.Justin Blalock 4.Ryan Kalil 5.Tony Ugoh

I doubt that Landry, Hall, Willis, Thomas and Brown can fall to us, but they are the best prospects that we need.

I don't like Jarret- I prefer Sidney Rice.
Jarret- imo not the best route runner and too many times, he catches the ball with his body (if that makes sense).

Safety:

I think this list needs to be separated out on needs- are we looking for that ed reed- covering half the damn field, or that bob sanders- striking fear in every running back or Laron Landry- can do it all while spitting at ya lady.....

Landry -supreme talent ( number 2 overall on my big board- just based on how much impact he will have right away).

one thing- i really like merriweather- b/c he will come in to the league and punish people. thats the patriots identity- a phsysical team that will pound you into the ground

CB:
1 Leon Hall
2 Darrelle Revis
3 Chris Houston
4 Marcus McCauley
5 Aaron Ross

not so much of a fan of Hall- tremendous speed and physical skills- but i don't see him as a top man to man cover guy

i like revis.

houston- looks awesome
mcaculey- can you fill in me about him- haven't seen much tape

aaron ross- don't like- don't think he will be good playing on his own- will need a lot of help. may help a cover 2 defense type team more than the pats.

Linebacker
1 Patrick Willis
2 Paul Posluszny
3 Lawrence Timmons
4 Jon Beason
5 David Harris

Willis is the REAL DEAL. this kid is going to be DAMN GOOD.

I have a feeling that if bellicheck were to trade down, and everyone thought he would take landry. That he would surpise and take willis. Your right, he is the real deal.
