Week Five: Houston vs. Arizona

Post#1 » by Mr. E » Sat Oct 10, 2009 5:42 pm

Here we go into one of the toughest stretches of the season, kicking it off on the road with what could be an incredible shootout between two teams that are not afraid of, but often inconsistent with their offenses.

We've got serious flu issues in the locker room, where not even the Man-Beast, Brian Cushing is immune. He should still play this weekend, but could be a step slow. Returning for the Texans is a guy who has been under-appreciated in his time on this team: Jacques Reeves. It will be nice to see him on the other side of Dunta once again.

The big concern is Mario Williams' shoulder which kept him out of practice for a few days this week. Hopefully the rest of the line stps up to help the big fella out.

On the offensive side we could talk about Slaton, Schaub & Jones' continued need for consistancy, but no one cares about that. Let's talk about what we're all thinking about: the matchup between the best receiver in the game (Andre Johnson) and the second best receiver in the game (that guy in Arizona). That will be the entire focus of the previews for the game and whichever announcers are tasked with calling it will be talking about it like they were Brett Favre and Tim Tebow out on a picnic.

Arizona is 1-2 coming off of a bye week, and Houston is 2-2 coming off of a victory against the hapless Oakland Raiders.

The offenses will be the focus, but the defense will be the key. If we get the Dr. Jekyl version of the Texans Defense then we'll win this game as Arizona has been having problems with stingy defenses; however, if we get the Mr. Hyde version of the Texans defense then we're getting our asses kicked.

And now, for obvious reasons we conclude this post with the UK's Kelly Brook.

Hi, we're the Houston Texans and we can't score from the 1-yd line even if we have multiple tries. Of course we run the same play each time, because why would we bother trying to throw it to Andre or Owen?

Ugh.

Very good job by the defense in the second half to keep them at 21, and the offense really got it going, but that pick-6 from Schaub killed us, and not being able to get into the endzone from the 1-yd line is just pathetic and sad.

Tough loss...
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Yeah, that pick-6 was a killer. Schaub just broke down mentally on that one.

The worst part was nor Dre or Owen was in the last couple of possession.
