sad - Otto Porter Jr. Announces Retirement

Post#1 » by cpower » Tue Mar 12, 2024 3:06 am

man I really hope the guy can stay healthy...when healthy he is an amazing basketball basketball who constantly was a top 5 guy for us during the championship team. You are talking about someone who can make threes, can play defense against wings and bigs and can rebound....dude would easily get 25M on this market...sigh...can you imagine Otto on this team? we will be a contender instantly!

some throwback games. what a player

Have a great retirement Otto! Retiring after being a key role player in 2022 Championship team is nice.

#3 overall pick in 2013 behind Anthony Bennett & Victor Oladipo.

Other notable players in his draft class still playing: Giannis, Schroeder, CJ McCollum, Steven Adams, Kelly Olynyk, Alex Len, Tim Hardaway Jr, Rudy Gobert,

All the best to Otto. The Dubs and Otto were both fortunate to have crossed paths when they did but it also took Otto recognizing the opportunity. The team was down and being counted out but him and Bjelica came anyway. They were rewarded for their belief and will always be part of Warriors lore.

Very true. Read that OPJ said he had bigger offers that summer but wanted to go to the Warriros. Bumass Bazemore however went to the Lakers.

I really wanted OPJ back. Shame his body gave out.

Its sad, but he gets to retire with $140 mill in career earnings, having won a championship recently as a key contributor. Wish him the best and super glad we got him during his last stretch as an effective nba player.

Don't forget Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. He's got as many rings as all of them combined, including Otto.

Otto Porter Jr played some inspiring basketball in 2022. It was like he knew his career was in its death throes and he made that final push. 2022 really was a special year. Good for Otto for getting that final payday to ride off into the sunset.

Hard to feel "sad" for a guy who made $140 million over 10 years playing a game...and a lot of that time he wasn't playing. Kudos to him and thankful GSW was part of his story.
