Man, I really like Pacome Dadiet. At 52? He's mocked first round isn't he...

He should go first round but I’ve seen him mocked in the mid 2nd rd in some places. But mocks right now are highly unreliable.

I’m liking a lot more players than I thought I would.

2020 was a particularly bad year because the available data was so incredibly limited because of Covid. That's not true this year.

A top 4 pick this year is MUCH higher value than a mid-round pick next year. If they get a top 4 pick and trade it for actual value fine, but it's really unlikely they can get good value for it just like they couldn't in 2020.

So if someone asks “who’s your Dadiet?”, the answer is “Salaun”?

If we trade Wiggins for 16 I’d def be looking at salaun there.

But what if they’re in the top 10 next season?

Trade it for our ‘25 pick + additional value. We very likely are lottery bound next year also, and a Steph injury from having a top 4 pick next year.

Also I havent looked at the top of the draft at all (and dont plan to) so I have no clue on who I’d want this year.

There are no tier 1 players in this draft. I don’t think anyone would trade for it and I think they would end up stuck with it.

Yes!

I am so happy that the pick will convey this season and that the team will have all of their assets moving forward outside of a top 20 protected 2030 pick.

For now.

Next move is dumping the dead weight for more assets.

Finding a Trayce Davis level player in the 2nd round 2 years in a row is too much to ask for.

We should be able to find a rotation player.

There is a reason future picks always have lower value that current picks ... because you don't know where they will be. If you KNEW the Warriors would pick #4 next year then I would prefer #4 next year over #4 this year. But it's unlikely that happens. There is, generally speaking, a huge drop after a small number of picks at the top of a draft. I think 2020 poisoned people's brains about the value of future picks vs current picks since that draft was so incredibly broken and the Warriors unfortunately had their highest pick in so long in that doomed draft.

They were going to have to pay the piper at some point and it conveying this draft was the best case scenario.

Yeah, we differ there a little ... I'd rather have the 1st pick in this draft and convey next year.

I think I would buy a top 2nd rd pick from either the spurs or blazers (do they really want to add 4 rookies) to pick up Karaban.
