Time to give Hendry some credit?

Post#1 » by IlliniNRG » Wed Jul 25, 2007 9:18 pm

Give the man his due - he and the Cubbies had an outstanding offseason.

Soriano, Ramirez, Lilly, Marquis, Floyd, Ward and DeRosa are all performing as expected, if not better.

Schmidt, Zito, Lugo, Suppan, Weaver, Pierre....many of the other names the fans bandied about for the Cubs are turning out to be total busts. Money does not always buy wins.

In a make or break offseason, I think Hendry earned himself a contract extension.

DeRosa was a HUGE signing. Any team could've afforded him, and he's been one of the most critical players this year.

Unbelievable.

Care to bring up the Maddux trade? Gave up Maddux + $2m for Izturis for him to suck and then get shipped out a season later and pay 3/4th's his salary.. Really smart considering the $ issues with the ownership right now.

In a make or break offseason, I think Hendry earned himself a contract extension.

Yeah.... I'm going to have disagree with you there. :nonono: :nonono:

Jim Hendry is an incompetent piece of trash. He will be shipped out immediately when the new owner takes over.

If anyone deserves credit it's Larry R.

Not to mention that Lou brought in players he wanted. Jim just offered the contracts.

Jim Hendry doesn't have an extension locked yet.
It may all come down to what he does in the next week.
July 31st may be Hendry's greatest day as a GM (If he brings in a star) or it could be his worst.

i still can't believe people like JH.. like i said before when you have a payroll like the cubs do your expected to have great signing and more importantly when you have that kind of payroll and have a 66-96 losing season you definetly need to be fired.

JH = Biggest Joke of all time Manager.
