Mariners show interest in Chan Ho Park

Post#1 » by blueNorange » Mon Apr 2, 2007 6:34 am

Rotoworld

The New York Daily News reports that the Mariners have expressed some interest in trading for Chan Ho Park.

Park will start the season in Triple-A New Orleans. The Mets are hoping to deal him for another starting pitcher.
I'd rather keep him as an insurance in the minors. But if the Mariners want to part with a young pitcher or 2B then I'll gladly trade Park. But I'd doubt the Mets will get a lot of value for him.

If he's our insurance, then we've got a lot of problems.

Chan Ho isn't our insurance. He's not the same player that he once was. He needs to be traded.

I wouldn't trade him unless they gave us something really good. He pitched well in ST and we'll need him if Duke starts hurting, or if oliver or pelfrey struggle.

Right now he's our 6th best starter - and I dare you to name me a better one.

but if the offers decent - I'd listen. He is our insurance - and Major - you're too negative on him. He's pitched OK in pre-sea.

Well the Mets have Jason Vargas who was impressive in Spring Training.

I have high hopes for Vargas - hope he can be a solid starter for us for years. I didn't realize he pitched well.

I just don't want him in the rotation. As you know, I've said from the first day of spring training I wanted the rotation to be Glavine, El Duque, Maine, Perez and Pelfrey. I got my wish.

Vargas is not ready to pitch in the majors, he's still a little bit raw. DOn't bring him up now n screw him up, let him take his time to develop his pitches so that when we call him up he can be a very good pitcher.

I don't want him in the Rotation either (now), but I am glad that we have him as insurance and I have enough faith in Chan Ho to get us some wins if we need him. I'm not sure Vargas or Humber are ready to win if they are called up - I like those guys better long term - I'd rather trade Chan Ho than Vargas, but right now, I'd rather have Chan Ho be our fall back plan than Vargas or humber.

Remember last year? - want me to go through the list again?

How many Pitchers did we try before we settled on Maine? as the 4th starter?

Personally I dont mind if we keep him or trade him, he just dont make a difference for us really. Sure you can say that he is a gamer or all of that but at the end of the day he just dont have the talent that he used to have.

Also if we had to go to a Sixth pitcher call me foolish but I give the ball to Humber before I do Park.

I say trade while there's still interest....I just want someone young whom we can develop in the triple-A for the future....
