Bleach Report Trade

Post#1 » by DET_Athletics » Tue May 7, 2024 5:12 pm

Trading for Kyle Kuzma. I don't think it's a bad idea, the original trade is

Pistons: Kyle Kuzma

Wizards: Isaiah Stewart, Marcus Sasser, 2029 FRP, 2027 SRP

I would be more inclined to do this trade, but not for Stewart or Sasser. If we could pull this off with a sign and trade of Wiseman and Grimes I would jump on it. If we get the 1st overall pick we would have to open up minutes for Sarr. I think Stewart would help in Sarr development more than Wiseman, just like he has helped in Duren development. Plus we would have starters and a bench setup with a prospect and a Vet competition at every position.(No Cade is not a Vet, but he plays like one)

Cade / Sasser
Ivey / FA
Kuzma / Thompson
1st Rounder / Fonteccio
Duren / Stewart

This team won 14 games this year. Trading MORE future 1sts than we already owe would be malpractice IMO. Certainly not for Kuzma, who turned a trade down to a team that's still playing in the playoffs because he wanted to just put up shots in Washington.

Only way I'm taking Kuz is if he comes super cheap and this is not that. If Stew can fetch a late 1st and Sasser was just taken with a 1st, that's like 3 1st rounders for a dude who was solely responsible for 2 of our 14 wins this year lol

We cannot spend all of these assets in an effort to go from horrific to below average (we'd still be very bad with Kuz) or there will be nothing left to bring us from below average to decent.

I'd rather just sign Tobias for a couple years.

I’d take a hard pass on that asking price.

yuck. Hard pass. Wouldn't want him for cap space at this point. We don't need a high volume 33% 3 point shooter who doesn't play much D. That's the exact opposite of what we should be looking for on the wings.

I would say Stewart alone is fair value. No way to include a couple of firsts and Sassar. The full package makes more sense for Coulibaly and/or Avdija.

That's a disgusting trade proposal, that's all I have to say about that.

I know this was a really bad team but that doesn't mean that you make stupid trades for the sake of making a trade.

I like Kuzma more than most but that’s a huge overpay. Hard pass.

I would be incredibly disappointed if Detroit picks up kuzma. Regardless of whatever goes out. He's not what you want on this team

Not for Kuzma, but I'm generally okay with the idea of trading this years pick depending on the circumstance.

I'd say I'm pretty strongly against tying up future picks more than we already have.

I get that we generally lack talent, but Kuzma isn't the answer. And giving up a recent first round pick (Sasser) and a future first rounder as well as other assets would only continue our trend of asset mismanagement.

Kuz would be a horrible move for us. I wouldn't trade Stewart for Kuzma straight up. I maybe would have taken Kuz last year for Bagley + Hayes but that's in part because I was so desperate to get rid of Bagley and Hayes from our roster. Lonnie Walker IV is a FA and IMO better than Kuzma and will come at a fraction of the price.

The last thing Detroit needs is to get worse on defense. This isn't close.

I think we need to shoot higher than Lonnie Walker as a starter, but i think if we can get two, he’d really work out well for us right now I’d bet.

At least there won't be any trades like this while we don't have a president.
