And the league's farm.

Yeah I’m waiting for the Cade extension and dealing Cade for a broken LaVine and a second two years from now.

There is that. This nightmare of a deadline could've been worse. We could have trade for Zach LaVine or Andrew Wiggins.

Not at all. I meant cutting Hayes and Harris.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

We're probably acquiring Zach LaVine with our cap space.

My money is on a strategic short term overpay for Tobias.

Philly doesn't have a better option, they're likely bringing Tobias back.

If the sign Tobias, it will be a min of 4 years at the Max. I’m not sure that he is dumb enough to take it but you never know. Also, I see the LaVine acquisition being the likely outcome unless Detroit spends 20 plus mill per contract on rotational pieces.

Are we about to hear this all day? "Such and such can get a 1st for X player, but Weaver couldn't for Bogey" with absolutely zero context being added.

The real issue is players lesser than Bogey (KO and Washington specifically) were dealt for less. Detroit coulda hold firm on getting their pick back. It’s heavily protected and won’t turn for years. Knicks are obviously playing for the now. I just don’t get it. How any of these trades are making improvements to this roster. We traded assets and didn’t get much back. I like Grimes but he’s rotational piece. It’s so frustrating but It’s why the Pistons are a dumpster fire. Again being a salary dump for seconds. Ugh so painful.

This is exactly my sentiment and what bothers me. Burks and Bojan is a great help to their bench and I think given the circumstances could’ve gotten our pick back but weaver sucks at negotiating
For both of you, are we going to ignore having to salary dump Grant Williams attached to that 1st? They wanted Grant Williams gone. So framing it as PJ Washington was able to get a 1st without mentioning taking on a 3 1/2 year failed FA acquisition is disingenuous.

Saying Olynyk fetched a 1st, when it was the promising rookie lottery pick that got the 1st is again disingenuous.

I completely disagree.

The Raps are going to resign KO and wanted him. The rookie is two years in and has yet to establish himself on a team made up of rookies. He’s a former 14th over pick who hasn’t lived up to the drafting.

I’m relation to Washington being moved, the Pistons gave up better players and value. While Grant Williams hasn’t been good, he’s the same player as B-Stew more or less but Stew will make more. Also the Pistons woulda gotten back a pick back that might not transfer in the first place. The pick just hampers Detroit in future trades.

Can't believe people make millions on ESPN and keep repeating "Alec Burks is a defender" or "2-way player" nonsense. I liked him, but they just assume every guy who played for Thibs is a lock-down guy. TNT even has a segment, "Who He Play For?" and they get 3% correct. Austin Rivers just said this (again). He should know better; he's had a sit at the bench for years next to his dad.

assuming no more news comes out, this is the total input/output:

IN
Danilo Gallinari
Mike Muscala
Simone Fontecchio
Quentin Grimes
Shake Milton
Troy Brown Jr.
Malachi Flynn
Evan Fournier
Danuel House (waived)
Ryan Arcidiacono (waived)

OUT
Marvin Bagley
Isaiah Livers
Bojan Bogdanovic
Alec Burks
Kevin Knox
Monte Morris
Killian Hayes (waived)
Joe Harris (waived)

can't keep track of the 2nd round picks but i think we gained a couple in all these exchanges (EDIT: gained net 3 second rounders). to me it looks like we did all these moves to get a couple pieces they want moving forward (fontecchio and grimes), cap flexibility (getting rid of bagley) and gaining some draft capital.

a lot of moves for a pretty unspectacular result but at least we're set up nicely this off season and it could be fun to watch pretty much a brand new team for the rest of the season.

Looks like we still have 2 more players than before.

I’m guessing that 2 of Flynn, Milton and Fournier get waived.

If you think the Raptors, or any other team, was prepared to give a 1st round pick for just Kelly Olynyk, I've got a lot of bridges all over the world to show you.

Olynyk was the secondary piece of that trade.

If Ivey continues to improve, there may be no need for Lavine.

Of the semi-important things it's basically Bojan, Burks, Morris, and the #31-35 2nd round pick for Fontecchio, Grimes, and 4 2nds (2 from the Knicks, 1 from Philly, 1 from Minny).

Seems pretty solid to me. You get 2 guys that fit the timeline and should be solid rotation players (not you Knox/Livers types), can play both sides of the ball, and are under team control plus some extra 2nds to replenish some of what you've given out.

we gained 10 players and lost 6 so we waived 2 players already rostered (hayes and harris) and waived 2 incoming ones (danuel house and ryan arcidiacono).

Help me understand this. I’m going off your list rather than memory.

IN
1. Danilo Gallinari
2. Mike Muscala
3. Simone Fontecchio
4. Quentin Grimes
5. Shake Milton
6. Troy Brown Jr.
7. Malachi Flynn
8. Evan Fournier
Danuel House (waived)

OUT

2. Isaiah Livers
3. Bojan Bogdanovic
4. Alec Burks
5. Kevin Knox
6. Monte Morris
Killian Hayes (waived)
Joe Harris (waived)

Disregarding the waived players, are we still a +2 overall?

Probably negotiating terms of buyouts? Wiseman and Fournier maybe? Maybe Flynn or Shake?

Fontecchio and Grimes is an upgrade on the wings. Overall Weaver did good.

i guess putting waived in brackets made it more confusing:

IN (now on roster)
1. Danilo Gallinari
2. Mike Muscala
3. Simone Fontecchio
4. Quentin Grimes
5. Shake Milton
6. Troy Brown Jr.
7. Malachi Flynn
8. Evan Fournier

IN AND OUT (didn't affect roster size)
Danuel House
Ryan Arcidiacono

OUT (now not on roster)
1. Marvin Bagley
2. Isaiah Livers
3. Bojan Bogdanovic
4. Alec Burks
5. Kevin Knox
6. Monte Morris
7. Killian Hayes
8. Joe Harris
