And just like that we have a brand new roster essentially with pieces that can contribute better just due to being better fits

I'm not seeing the immediate downside to all of these moves (besides the herky jerkiness of losing picks) and in fact we may have gotten better cohesively

Maybe we can’t officially waive Arcidiacono until the trade becomes official?

Very well could be, either way I expect Gallo to be gone. Whether that be getting waived now, or getting bought out soon

If the sign Tobias, it will be a min of 4 years at the Max. I’m not sure that he is dumb enough to take it but you never know. Also, I see the LaVine acquisition being the likely outcome unless Detroit spends 20 plus mill per contract on rotational pieces.

If Ivey continues to improve, there may be no need for Lavine.

Even if Ivey regresses there will be absolutely no need for LaVine.

Hey, we agree on something!
Lavine would have been a disaster. Instead we made some solid (but not great) moves and kept our cap space intact.

Saying Olynyk fetched a 1st, when it was the promising rookie lottery pick that got the 1st is again disingenuous.

I completely disagree.

The Raps are going to resign KO and wanted him. The rookie is two years in and has yet to establish himself on a team made up of rookies. He’s a former 14th over pick who hasn’t lived up to the drafting.

I’m relation to Washington being moved, the Pistons gave up better players and value. While Grant Williams hasn’t been good, he’s the same player as B-Stew more or less but Stew will make more. Also the Pistons woulda gotten back a pick back that might not transfer in the first place. The pick just hampers Detroit in future trades.

If you think the Raptors, or any other team, was prepared to give a 1st round pick for just Kelly Olynyk, I've got a lot of bridges all over the world to show you.

Olynyk was the secondary piece of that trade.

.
Sadly, people do think Olynyk fetched a first.

They paid cash for Indy to waive Cojo and they sent a late 2nd for a fake 2nd

Kudos to those that predicted a dud of deadline.

Bojan and Hield were probably the "biggest" names moved. Overall the biggest names moved this season were Siakam, OG, and Rozier. Definitely not any league altering moves made this year.

Well Actually Harden was traded to LAC the first week of the season, so that would easily be most impactful move. However that Harden situation lingered for the entire offseason and Philly moved him early in the season to get rid of the distraction. So its wasn't typical trade circumstances.

The prized young guy is 2 years in and done nothing. I get them like him but price was high. Everyone said Detroit did bad today.

The analysts were also super negative about the Lions draft and now everyone is raving about it.

If it’s not flagrantly bad like a Josh Smith signing or a Zach Lavine trade, give it a little time.

I'm not disputing Detroit's grade. I'm disputing Olynyk fetching a 1st. It's just not true no matter how you try to spin it.

I’m not a fan of draft grades per se. Lions issue is different.

In regards to the trade, the Thunder took a pick for a quality rotational big and a lotto bust. They won the deal by far. The were able to get a first for terrible players. Weaver is on the other spectrum. He had been turning down a first for Bogey for over a year. It’s reported that he has. His crazy ask was 2 picks. Fast forward now and we trade him plus Burks for two distant seconds, waiver wire garbage and a guy in Grimes (the Knicks wanted to dump). I don’t get making trades to make trades. Weaver is a clown and it’s silly that other teams can pull value while the Pistons get worked constantly.

Am I missing something? Who are you referring to with the Thunder?

Sheed and Co. mention Killian at the 24 minute mark (there's a lot of other Detroit mentions, mostly about the 2004+ teams)
