We need some prospects to step up. It’s hard to get excited with the current state of the draft.

There’s gotta be a Haliburton type star in there somewhere. Maybe Sarre is good.

Sad.

I’m not seeing a single top prospect who’s either

A) A blue chip prospect
B) A good fit with what we have

There will be a star player or two drafted this year. But it’s the sort of draft where they’re probably going to be in some other part of the draft.

Eh I like both Ron Holland and Matas Buzelis. Think both would be good fits especially Buzelis, he'd be nice taking Stewart's minutes.

Sad to say but we need a franchise player for Cade to complement. Anyone else can be moved if necessary to make the fits work.

We need good players and we need our guys to actually develop into good players. Cade is not a good player right now. If he was a #2 or 3 right now we wouldn't be on a 20 game losing streak. Bot every team is gonna have a jokic but that doesn't mean we can't at least have a good team and actually win some games.

Cade definitely hasn't been playing well. I still believe in that #2 projection for him but we do need more competence around him, yeah, and he does need to play better. But I don't think teams win anything significant in this league without a real number one anyway.

VERY early but i'm liking the prospect of either nikola topic or ron holland. topic just to put another reliable guard beside cade who can create for himself and others, create paint touches, etc. plus having two 6'6 guards both with 7 foot wingspans gives us a ton of size in the back court defensively.

and really we just need wings that can create and holland has shown he can do a bit of that. still a lot of time left to evaluate though.

Risacher with the top pick, PJ Hall for the lower pick I’m assuming we will acquire.

My current top 3:
1. Sarr
2. Buzelis
3. Risacher

We need shooters.

For those who want Sarr: are you ok with trading away Duren? Or is your plan to play Sarr at PF?

Risacher seems like the best wing.

I TLDR'd most of the thread:

So who are we gonna pick at #4? Or is this draft so bad that the powers that let us get #1 so they don't have to give it to us in a draft that matters?

Zaccharie Risacher is good and is exactly the type of player we need long shooter that can defend and has room to improve handling wise but he's French....

Ron Holland is nice too but more of a ball in the hand type player.

Matas Buzelis is another perfect guy for us long and can do a bit of everything on the offensive end not bad on defense either.

That's the 3 guys I like for us the most Sarr seems good to but I personally like the others more and they fit a Lil better as well.

We need a shooter and someone that's going to grow into the go to scorer mentality. With that said I believe Caitlin Clark should be our target.

I'm a little concerned by the fact that basically every highly touted player out of the G-league Ignite has been a disappointment so far. Buzelis is shooting 22% from 3 and Holland is shooting 24%.

We don’t have enough of a sample size from Ignite to really draw any conclusions on that nor enough time. 5 players taken in round one and 3 of them are still first or second year players.

The stats are a valid concern.

Certainly they can still become very good players, but it doesn't seem coincidental that they all seem so unprepared to start their careers, and doesn't really bode well for one coming to this team and contributing to this team improving anytime soon.

True but they are still good prospects imo I'd still pick one of them without hesitation concerning the league.

i know the pick's value would be depressed because of the draft class but i'd be down if they traded our pick, even if it ended being first overall.

none of the top prospects are even close to polished so it would just be another young player that contributes to losing but everyone wants to gift minutes to because we invested a high pick in them.

Depends if we want to be in position to pick Cooper Flagg in 2025 or not I guess...
