And that would be a very bad look when trying to sign free agents in the future, etc. Word gets out.
Don't waste the last years of a guys career when you aren't cracking 10 wins with or without him. And also don't waste the value you can get out of him.

They wasted the valye already if 2 1st from last year rumor is true. I agree if he wants to be moved move him, but idk if anyone knows anything anymore

He certainly has more value now than he'll have after the trade deadline.
And 2 1sts can mean a lot of things. Not all 1sts are created equal. A heavily protected 1st in 2029 that turns into 2nds if it doesn't convey is a lot different than a lightly protected 1st.
Even if they had some great offer last year (we don't know), you don't turn down a GOOD offer now just because you passed on a better offer a year ago.
