I miss Clutch Cade in college and in his rookie season. We haven't seen THAT guy for a long time, so many disappearing acts in the 4th this season.
And there he is with the meaningless stat pad at the end.

This is exactly like the Toronto game except we're Toronto lol. Down to the inbound foul. Nice one Killian

Two overtime losses, one win, and one beatdown by Houston over our last four games... At least we're overall looking better during big stretches of that 28 game losing streak it just felt like we didn't have a chance.

glad the game was competitive throughout but i haven't watched a game like that in a long time where it felt like neither team could miss. both teams shot over 50% from the floor and over 45% from 3.

Best part of this game is Bojan and Burks doing good things for their trade value.
Would be great if we could get one veteran player that can play defense at some point here.

Was just coming in to say the same thing about the trade value.
As for acquiring any Vets at the deadline I'm highly doubting it. Just because their morale is going to be busted getting traded here.
Open to Vets that are playing overseas trying to get back into the league though.

Clutch play (or lack thereof) aside, we’re also seeing why Monty was reluctant to use this offense-first lineup. This group gives up a LOT of points.
To be clear- this is still better than the dumpster fire that was/is our “defensive” lineup. Monty was 100 percent wrong when he started Stewart/Ausar/Killian (any of them or as a unit). But results like this sorta put you in his headspace.

1. Funnest game this season
2. The refs were awful. Even the replay early on that gave Kessler a block was a clear foul
3. Jaden Ivey is a great teammate. Celebrating Burks the entire fourth quarter
4. Lol at Cade telling Duren to put Burks down
5. Cade cooks players when he’s pissed

another signature monty williams loss, if any other realgm user was coaching they would win this game. but it had to be monty "zero convultions brain" wiLLiams.

Didn't affect the outcome of the game in the end, but surely others noticed that for the last Utah defensive possession in regulation that Monty subbed out Cade for Killian, knowing that we had no timeouts and therefore Killian would have to be out there instead of Cade for our final offensive possession? That made no sense to me.
Anyway, tough game to lose when we shot so well and had big games from a few of our players. It was painful seeing our defense fail time and time again.
Overall though, as mentioned above, we've had some close losses recently in addition to the Toronto win so at least things are looking slightly up (have to find some silver lining here).

That loss hurts. I can feel it in my stomach. There's no way we're ever going to shoot that well, and to lose. Man. I wanted to say
1-1 in 2024! And guys do build on momentum. Orlando started horribly, then ended well. Monty with Phoenix won all those games in the bubble and went to The Finals very soon. But it could be a while before we get a chance like that.

This reminded me of the playoff game where Ben Wallace, of all people, was on fire -- 29 points, made his FTs -- and everyone else was shooting well. Yet, we got our butts handed to us by the Sixers because, as good as we were, their offense was better. AI got that one win in a series he gets, and I was left thinking "we will never ever shoot that well, and to lose".
On the brighter side, we got to see Duren getting a piggy-back ride.

This is the last of a 3-game homestand for Utah. They won the first two as underdogs, including a 37 point blowout win last game. Now they're big favorites and set to embark on a huge 3-game east coast trip after the game. @ Boston, @ Philly, @ Milwaukee. They'll be both flat and looking ahead at the same time. They are ripe for a letdown performance.
Meanwhile, we're coming off an awful performance, even by our standards, and should be focused and ready to play in the 2nd game of the road trip.
We should be able to keep it close tonight. If we don't, we're in even worse shape than I thought.
Well, we're not in worse shape than I thought. That's a good thing.
Tough loss. Poor coaching. But at least an easy cover, for those who partook.

I'll give him a pass there. Cade had 5 fouls and it really made no sense for Utah to leave like 5 seconds on the clock when they took their last shot. Though it is weird that he took Cade out for defense but didn't take Bojan out for the same reason.
