We don't even know if we keep our 1st round pick or not, right? I'd gladly give them a 1st round pick.

So again, ATL doesn't have anything that they would want from us. Unless they want Ausar and a bunch of picks we may not even properly own. If they want pick swaps maybe

The goal for ATL is clear, get a clear running mate for Trae that won't check out when it comes to defense and complementing on offense. Instead of the whoever offense they run while also being heliocentric to a degree with the Trae show

Are you under some impression we might make the playoffs or something?

You're not allowed to trade consecutive futures firsts, and we owe the Knicks a pick still.

There's been so many pick movements, I have no idea what we have or don't have. Lots of trades, followed by subsequent trades.

Yeah, we're not going to make the playoffs, so let's use our cap money to get guys like Joe Harris? How else do you make a first step?

Yes 100% on draft night you make the pick and trade the draft rights and thus you're not trading "consecutive future firsts"

I'm aware, but it was the part about not knowing if we'll be keeping a lottery protected pick that confused me. It's a 100% guarantee we'll have that pick.

Can we trade the rights to our pick if it's 1-18?

I believe we could do an "if 1-18" pick swap though, where we get some sort of 1st this year in return if a team owns a later 1st round pick and wants to move up.

Or if we moved Bojan to a contender for some sort of late 1st this year, I THINK we could then move the pick, because I believe the rule is that you must own at least ONE 1st in every other draft. Not 100% sure, but that's how I understand it based on something I read. The wording was not specific to owning your own team's pick.

I believe we could do an "if 1-17" pick swap though, where we get some sort of 1st this year in return if a team owns a later 1st round pick and wants to move up.

You can't do pick swaps on years where you might owe the pick to someone else. You can only pick swap on years where you for sure own your pick.

I'm not sure there is an all-star level player that cade couldn't be paired with. You obviously need to fill in the gaps around them with complimentary players, but Cade is about as versatile as you could ask for.
