Kikuchi I'm good giving the 5th starter too I'm not exactly confident in his control but he's pitched well enough to win the job.

We have our choice of another pitcher.

Honestly, it will depend on the situation at the time. How is everybody pitching? How is Ryu looking in his MiLB starts? What are injuries like?

Having too many quality starters (if that's the case) is a good problem to have.

After watching Thomas Hatch start multiple games last year I'll never complain about too many pitchers lmao

So far, the most important development at spring training for the Jays might be the lack of injuries. Aside from Vlady's short bout of knee tenderness, the rotation is healthy (aside from Ryu's surgery which was not a 2023 injury and has been compensated for) and no other position players have reported anything of significance. The Yankees now have three fifths of their rotation unlikely to be ready to throw the first week or two of the season, or in the case of Frankie Montas, until August, if that. OF Harrison Bader is out until the third week or April, or longer, with a high grade shoulder strain. Reliever Lou Trevino is out until May. That's a noteworthy difference for a team that shot out of the starting gate into the AL East lead last year and never relinquished it, although the final two months of the regular season saw significant slowing of momentum. The Ray6s look like they will be without Tyler Glasnow for much of April, so there is that, as well.

If nothing else, we can expect a heretofore unprecedented level of transparency from the Rays regarding his injury.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Is auto-correct like TikTok, a danger to the national interest so-called? :D

Kind of feel bad for Nate but sending him to AAA is the right move. He had trouble locating his breaking ball in spring training. It's best if he worked on this in AAA. Wish him all the best!

Bassitt does not seem as though he has that special movement on his pitches this spring.

I know we're supposed to ignore everything that happens in spring training , but Lukas has been very pleasant to watch.

With the off-day on the Friday, will Kikuchi get skipped first time around, or is it likely to just be business as usual?

As well as he’e pitch he’d this spring coupled with a psychological factor, I’m betting on business as usual.
