Matt Garza call-up?

Post#1 » by itsagreatimeout » Thu May 24, 2007 4:36 am

How long until Garza will be called up? How has he been doing?
on an unrelated matter: I keep hearing liriano won't be back until spring training next year. Does it really take that long? Is there no chance he'll make it back by october?

I give it another 2 months yet. Not very well, his control hasn't been there. I think he's working on his breaking ball.
Tommy John surgery usually takes about 12-18 months to fully recover from. Liriano is planning on playing winter ball, but there's no reason to push him faster than that. He's too valuable to lose. At this rate we won't have much to worry about in October anyway.
