Angels Outfield? The best in baseball?

Post#1 » by jman3134 » Sun Apr 1, 2007 10:40 pm

With Gary Matthews Jr., Vlad Guerrero, and Garret Anderson, we have one of the best outfields in baseball. How many teams do you think have better outfielders? (combined fielding and hitting)

I'll go with Tampa Bays as of right now with Elijah Dukes, Carl Crawford, and Delmon Young. That outfield has more tools than Black & Decker. Yankees outfield isn't bad either.

I don't think Matthews 2006 season was a fluke, and I see him continuing his success from last year. He's shown signs of maintaining it during spring training. So yeah, I'd agree, the Angels outfields is one of the best.

Anderson is weak. The Yankees outfield probably has you covered.

I'm with you KG. I'm not seeing a whole lot out of the Angels outfield minus Vlad of course. I'd take the Red Sox OF over it, of course JD Drew has to actually stay healthy for that to occur.

Good luck this season guys.

idk, two .300+ hitters and another potential .300 plus hitter in Anderson. Plus, I like Vlad defensively over most of the Yankees fielders- although Cabrera and Matsui have had their moments.

Vlad is probably a top 5 outfielder.
I don't know about best outfield in baseball but it is up there.
I am a big Angels fan. My 2nd favorite team.
I went to their ring ceremony the year after they won.

Vlad is great. He doesn't have much protection in the lineup and still produces.

I really would like this team if Juan Rivera stayed healthy then we could have a good line-up.

CF - Matthews Jr.
SS - Cabrera
RF - Guerrero
3B - Hillenbrand
LF - Anderson
DH - Rivera
1B - Kotchman
2B - Kendrick
C - Napoli

Rivera's bat will be missed until he gets back.

Seriously, I still remember back when he started playing for the Expos...one time he threw from deep right field and the ball went out of play behind the plate!

Then he worked on his accuracy and now has IMO the best arm in the majors.
