Official Empty Board During The Playoff Hunt: Go Team

Post#1 » by MHZ » Tue Sep 25, 2007 3:21 pm

One game back, series at the Dodgers starts tonight. The Rocks have never played spectacularly at LA, but the Rocks are also never anywhere near the playoffs this late in the season... Who knows what to expect, but it's a very out of place excitement to have a vested interest in the baseball playoff race.

What's the buzz like in Colorado about this team?

Um, there's a minor buzz. Most people have known the Rockies for too long to get excited over being a game out. That's just the sad state of 15 years of existence, one wild-card, and more moronic moves than can fit into 10 pages of this thread. People are extremely skeptical.

Well, still one back of the Pads. They have an outside shot at the division (three back) as well, and keep in mind they play Arizona at home to end the season.

All you can do is win games, and good things will happen.

Bad news - Josh Fogg takes the hill tonight.

Fogg has actually done pretty well as of late (and this is coming from a guy who doesn't like him at all and wanted him to be out of the starting rotation at the beginning of the year). But ever since he's been bumpd up from #5 to essentially #2, he's performed well. And with our hitting going the way it's been going, he doesn't have to be spectacular for us to win, he just needs to be good. Let's close out these last 5 games.... GO ROCKIES!!

Well, here it is. 11 games in a row, but they face the three most important games in franchise history at home against Arizona. Do they have anything left in the tank against Brandon Webb tonight? Will Jeff Francis win a franchise record 18th game, and shrug off the massive pressure of the climax of the playoff hunt?

I suppose we shall see. I just hope the Rocks have three more wins left in this streak.

Ill be watching and have said before the season started that this team had the potential to be really good and im glad they have lived up to it. Win or loss this team has a bright future, I just hope the organization forks over the money to sign these young guys long term.

As a Rockies fan in Arizona, I can say that I will excitedly be watching this series hoping for Colorado to run the streak to 14. We for sure need 2 of the games, and more than likely all 3. But regardless of what happens, it has been one heck of a run, and it has been very exciting, which I'm glad we finally get to experience as baseball fans from Denver. And as others said, let's just hope the owners pay the money to keep these guys together. Let's hope and pray for another sweep to close out the season.... GO ROCKIES!!

It's not going be easy. Webb can dominate (although the Rocks have hit him this year), and tomorrow worries me with Redman on the hill.

It's not going to be easy, but the crowd should be an early-mid '90's throwback crowd. I'm pumped.

Good game Rockies. That game was down to the wire. If you were playing anyone else I'd be rooting for you. 11 in a row just to have a chance. I respect you guys a lot more than the lay down and die Dodgers.

I'll be at the game. Atmosphere is going to be early-Rockiesesque.
